Joseph responded, “Allah forbid that we should take other than the one with whom we found our property. Otherwise, we would surely be unjust.”

قوله تعالى : قال معاذ الله مصدر . " أن نأخذ " في موضع نصب ; أي من أن نأخذ . إلا من وجدنا في موضع نصب ب " نأخذ " . متاعنا عنده أي معاذ الله أن نأخذ البريء بالمجرم ونخالف ما تعاقدنا عليه .إنا إذا لظالمون أي أن نأخذ غيره .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
