قوله تعالى : فلعلك باخع نفسك على آثارهم إن لم يؤمنوا بهذا الحديث أسفا قوله تعالى : فلعلك باخع نفسك على آثارهم باخع أي مهلك وقاتل ; وقد تقدم . آثارهم جمع أثر ، ويقال إثر . والمعنى : على أثر توليهم وإعراضهم عنك .إن لم يؤمنوا بهذا الحديث أي القرآن .أسفا أي حزنا وغضبا على كفرهم ; وانتصب على التفسير .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
