Then they ˹quickly˺ regressed to their ˹original˺ mind-set, ˹arguing,˺ “You already know that those ˹idols˺ cannot talk.”

ولكن { نُكِسُوا عَلَى رُءُوسِهِمْ ْ} أي: انقلب الأمر عليهم، وانتكست عقولهم وضلت أحلامهم، فقالوا لإبراهيم:{ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَؤُلَاءِ يَنْطِقُونَ ْ} فكيف تهكم بنا وتستهزئ بنا وتأمرنا أن نسألها وأنت تعلم أنها لا تنطق؟ .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
