And they say, “˹These revelations are only˺ ancient fables which he has had written down, and they are rehearsed to him morning and evening.”1

وقالوا أساطير الأولين قال الزجاج : واحد الأساطير أسطورة ; مثل أحدوثة وأحاديث . وقال غيره : أساطير جمع أسطار ; مثل أقوال وأقاويل . اكتتبها يعني محمدا . فهي تملى عليه بكرة وأصيلا أي تلقى عليه وتقرأ حتى تحفظ . و تملى أصله تملل ; فأبدلت اللام الأخيرة ياء من التضعيف : كقولهم : تقضى البازي ; وشبهه .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
