So Moses left the city in a state of fear and caution, praying, “My Lord! Deliver me from the wrongdoing people.”

{ فَخَرَجَ مِنْهَا خَائِفًا يَتَرَقَّبُ } أن يوقع به القتل، ودعا اللّه، و { قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ } فإنه قد تاب من ذنبه وفعله غضبا من غير قصد منه للقتل، فَتَوعُّدُهُمْ له ظلم منهم وجراءة.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
