Say, “If I had ever asked you for a reward, you could keep it. My reward is only from Allah. And He is a Witness over all things.”

قوله تعالى : قل ما سألتكم من أجر فهو لكم إن أجري إلا على الله وهو على كل شيء شهيد .قوله تعالى : قل ما سألتكم من أجر أي جعل على تبليغ الرسالة فهو لكم أي ذلك الجعل لكم إن كنت سألتكموه إن أجري إلا على الله وهو على كل شيء شهيد أي رقيب وعالم وحاضر لأعمالي وأعمالكم ، لا يخفى عليه شيء فهو يجازي الجميع .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
