For whenever it was said to them ˹in the world˺, “There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Allah,” they acted arrogantly

ثم ذكر أن إجرامهم، قد بلغ الغاية وجاوز النهاية فقال:{ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ } فدعوا إليها، وأمروا بترك إلهية ما سواه { يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ } عنها وعلى من جاء بها.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
