He then proclaimed, “I am truly in love with ˹these˺ fine things out of remembrance for my Lord,” until they went out of sight.

فقال: إنني آثرت حب المال عن ذكر ربي حتى غابت الشمس عن عينيه، رُدُّوا عليَّ الخيل التي عُرضت من قبل، فردت عليه، فشرع يضرب سيقانها ورقابها بالسيف؛ قربة لله، لأنها كانت سبب فوات صلاته. وكان التقرب بذبح الخيل مشروعاً في شريعته.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
