If they turn away, then say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “I warn you of a ˹mighty˺ blast, like the one that befell ’Ȃd and Thamûd.”

أي: فإن أعرض هؤلاء المكذبون بعد ما بين لهم من أوصاف القرآن الحميدة، ومن صفات الإله العظيم { فَقُلْ أَنْذَرْتُكُمْ صَاعِقَةً } أي: عذابًا يستأصلكم ويجتاحكم، { مِثْلَ صَاعِقَةِ عَادٍ وَثَمُودَ } القبيلتين المعروفتين، حيث اجتاحهم العذاب، وحل عليهم، وبيل العقاب، وذلك بظلمهم وكفرهم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
