In fact, I had allowed enjoyment for these ˹Meccans˺ and their forefathers, until the truth came to them along with a messenger making things clear.

قوله تعالى بل متعت وقرئ ( بل متعنا ) هؤلاء وآباءهم أي : في الدنيا بالإمهال . حتى جاءهم الحق أي : محمد - صلى الله عليه وسلم - بالتوحيد والإسلام الذي هو أصل دين إبراهيم ، وهو الكلمة التي بقاها الله في عقبه . ورسول مبين أي : يبين لهم ما بهم إليه حاجة .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
