But as soon as We removed the torments from them, they broke their promise.

( فلما كشفنا عنهم العذاب ) أي : فدعا فكشفنا . ( إذا هم ينكثون ) أي : ينقضون العهد الذي جعلوه على أنفسهم فلم يؤمنوا . وقيل : قولهم : إننا لمهتدون إخبار منهم عن أنفسهم بالإيمان ، فلما كشف عنهم العذاب ارتدوا .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
