Why should Allah punish you if you are grateful and faithful? Allah is ever Appreciative, All-Knowing.

ثم قال مخبرا عن غناه عما سواه ، وأنه إنما يعذب العباد بذنوبهم ، فقال :( ما يفعل الله بعذابكم إن شكرتم وآمنتم ) أي : أصلحتم العمل وآمنتم بالله ورسوله ، ( وكان الله شاكرا عليما ) أي : من شكر شكر له ومن آمن قلبه به علمه ، وجازاه على ذلك أوفر الجزاء .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
