فعتوا عن امر ربهم فاخذتهم الصاعقة وهم ينظرون ٤٤
فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ ٤٤
فَعَتَوۡاْ
عَنۡ
أَمۡرِ
رَبِّهِمۡ
فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ
ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ
وَهُمۡ
يَنظُرُونَ
٤٤
Still they persisted in defying the commands of their Lord, so they were overtaken by a ˹mighty˺ blast while they were looking on.

وفي شأن ثمود وإهلاكهم آيات وعبر،
إذ قيل لهم:
انتفعوا بحياتكم حتى تنتهي آجالكم. فعصوا أمر ربهم، فأخذتهم صاعقة العذاب، وهم ينظرون إلى عقوبتهم بأعينهم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
