انما النجوى من الشيطان ليحزن الذين امنوا وليس بضارهم شييا الا باذن الله وعلى الله فليتوكل المومنون ١٠

إِنَّمَا ٱلنَّجْوَىٰ مِنَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِ لِيَحْزُنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَلَيْسَ بِضَآرِّهِمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ١٠

إِنَّمَا

ٱلنَّجۡوَىٰ

مِنَ

ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ

لِيَحۡزُنَ

ٱلَّذِينَ

ءَامَنُواْ

وَلَيۡسَ

بِضَآرِّهِمۡ

شَيۡـًٔا

إِلَّا

بِإِذۡنِ

ٱللَّهِۚ

وَعَلَى

ٱللَّهِ

فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ

ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ

١٠

Secret talks are only inspired by Satan to grieve the believers. Yet he cannot harm them whatsoever except by Allah’s Will. So in Allah let the believers put their trust.

You are reading a tafsir for the group of verses 58:9 to 58:10

As a rule, secret whispering is an undesirable action. However, sometimes for some good reason, secret whispering has to be resorted to. In this case, the decisive factor is intention. If it is done with good intentions, it is legitimate but if it is done with evil intentions, it is sinful.

He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
