We used to take up positions there for eavesdropping, but whoever dares eavesdrop now will find a flare lying in wait for them.

{ وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْع } فنتلقف من أخبار السماء ما شاء الله. { فَمَنْ يَسْتَمِعِ الْآنَ يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَابًا رَصَدًا } أي: مرصدا له، معدا لإتلافه وإحراقه، أي: وهذا له شأن عظيم، ونبأ جسيم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
