Y [recuerden] cuando celebré un pacto con ustedes y elevé el monte por encima suyo [y les dije:] “Aférrense con fuerza a lo que les he dado [la Torá] y recuerden lo que hay en ella, que así alcanzarán el temor devocional de Dios.

أي: واذكروا { إِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ } وهو العهد الثقيل المؤكد بالتخويف لهم, برفع الطور فوقهم وقيل لهم:{ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ } من التوراة { بِقُوَّةٍ } أي: بجد واجتهاد, وصبر على أوامر الله، { وَاذْكُرُوا مَا فِيهِ } أي: ما في كتابكم بأن تتلوه وتتعلموه، { لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ } عذاب الله وسخطه, أو لتكونوا من أهل التقوى.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
