Quando poi si fu allontanato da loro e da quello che adoravano all’infuori di Allah, gli donammo Isacco e Giacobbe ed entrambi li facemmo profeti.

فلما اعتزلهم وما يعبدون من دون الله وهبنا له إسحاق ويعقوب أي آنسنا وحشته بولد ؛ عن ابن عباس وغيره . وقيل : عسى يدل على أن العبد لا يقطع بأنه يبقى على المعرفة أم لا في المستقبل . وقيل : دعا لأبيه بالهداية . ف " عسى " شك لأنه كان لا يدري هل يستجاب له فيه أم لا ؟ والأول أظهر .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
