Dispongono forse, all’infuori di Noi, di dèi che sappiano proteggerli? Questi non possono neppure difendere loro stessi né trovare altri che li difendano contro di Noi.

{ أَمْ لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُمْ مِنْ دُونِنَا ْ} أي: إذا أردناهم بسوء هل من آلهتهم، من يقدر على منعهم من ذلك السوء، والشر النازل بهم؟؟ { لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ مِنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ ْ} أي: لا يعانون على أمورهم من جهتنا، وإذا لم يعانوا من الله، فهم مخذولون في أمورهم، لا يستطيعون جلب منفعة، ولا دفع مضرة.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
