ثم حكى - سبحانه - جانبا من دعائهم إياه . وخوفهم من عقابه ، فقال : ( والذين يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اصرف عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ) بأن تبعده عنا وتبعدنا عنه .( إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَاماً ) أى : إن عذابها كان لازما دائما غير مفارق ، منه سمى الغريم غريما لملازمته لغريمه ، ويقال : فلان مغرم بكذا ، إذا كان ملازما لمحبته والتعلق به .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
