Combatteteli finché non ci sia più persecuzione e il culto sia [reso solo] ad Allah. Se desistono, non ci sia ostilità 1 , a parte contro coloro che prevaricano.

واستمروا -أيها المؤمنون- في قتال المشركين المعتدين، حتى لا تكون فتنة للمسلمين عن دينهم ولا شرك بالله، ويبقى الدين لله وحده خالصًا لا يُعْبَد معه غيره. فإن كفُّوا عن الكفر والقتال فكُفُّوا عنهم; فالعقوبة لا تكون إلا على المستمرين على كفرهم وعدوانهم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
