Quando gli si recitano i Nostri versetti, volge le spalle superbo come se non li avesse sentiti, come se avesse un peso nelle orecchie. Dagli annuncio di un doloroso castigo.

قوله تعالى : وإذا تتلى عليه آياتنا ولى مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها كأن في أذنيه وقرا فبشره بعذاب أليم .قوله تعالى : وإذا تتلى عليه آياتنا يعني القرآن . ولى أي أعرض . مستكبرا نصب على الحال . كأن لم يسمعها كأن في أذنيه وقرا ثقلا وصمما . وقد تقدم فبشره بعذاب أليم تقدم أيضا .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
