E diranno: «Nostro Signore, noi abbiamo obbedito ai nostri capi e ai nostri notabili. Sono loro che ci hanno sviato dalla [retta] via.

( وَقَالُواْ رَبَّنَآ إِنَّآ أَطَعْنَا سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَآءَنَا فَأَضَلُّونَا السبيلا ) ، أى : وقال هؤلاء الكافرون - بعد هذا التحسر والتفجع - يا ربنا إنا أطعنا فى الدنيا ( سَادَتَنَا وَكُبَرَآءَنَا ) أى : ملوكنا ورؤساءنا وزعماءنا ، فجعلونا فى ضلال عن الصراط المستقيم ، وعن السبيل الحق .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
