Se vi incontrano in qualche luogo, saranno vostri nemici, vi aggrediranno con le loro mani e le loro lingue e si augureranno che diveniate miscredenti.

ثم بين تعالى شدة عداوتهم، تهييجا للمؤمنين على عداوتهم، { إِنْ يَثْقَفُوكُمْ } أي: يجدوكم، وتسنح لهم الفرصة في أذاكم، { يَكُونُوا لَكُمْ أَعْدَاءً } ظاهرين { وَيَبْسُطُوا إِلَيْكُمْ أَيْدِيَهُمْ } بالقتل والضرب، ونحو ذلك.{ وَأَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالسُّوءِ } أي: بالقول الذي يسوء، من شتم وغيره، { وَوَدُّوا لَوْ تَكْفُرُونَ } فإن هذا غاية ما يريدون منكم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
