Wij vergolden hun toen doordat Wij hen verdronken in de zee omdat zij Onze Tekenen loochenden en zij ze niet in acht plachten te nemen.

فانتقمنا منهم فأغرقناهم في اليم بأنهم كذبوا بآياتنا وكانوا عنها غافلين واليم البحر . وكانوا عنها أي النقمة . دل عليها فانتقمنا وقيل : عن الآيات أي لم يعتبروا بها حتى صاروا كالغافلين عنها .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
