E quando lhes é recitado (o Alcorão), dizem: Cremos nele, porque é a verdade, emanada do nosso Senhor. Em verdade, já éramos muçulmanos, antes disso.

وإذا يتلى عليهم قالوا آمنا به إنه الحق من ربنا أي إذا قرئ عليهم القرآن قالوا صدقنا بما فيه ( إنا كنا من قبله ) أي من قبل نزوله ، أو من قبل بعثة محمد عليه السلام مسلمين أي موحدين ، أو مؤمنين بأنه سيبعث محمد وينزل عليه القرآن .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
